Which Split Routine Is Best
Muscles only grow when you lift heavy and also allow adequate rest time for them to recover and build. Thus the best split routine would be the one that allows your muscles to get the maximum amount of rest possible.
Each muscle requires from 5-7 days to heal completely after a intense workout.
The best split routine would be the one which allows each muscle to rest for 5 to 7 days.
Go to the gym for only 3 times a week especially if you are a skinny guy, that would be the best split routine.
I used to be a very skinny guy and I can guarantee that you will spend years in the gym with no progress if you didn't take special considerations that suits your body type while training.
Here is what your split routine should be like:
Day 1 Chest and Biceps
1 day off
Day 2 Back and Legs
1 day off
Day 3 Shoulders and Triceps
2 days off
This split routine will allow adequate rest to your muscles and will help them grow quick. After I realized that muscles only grow when they are at rest and not when you are in the gym, I started to follow a split routine that allows more rest my body started to grow.
Why is this the best split routine?
Your triceps are already loaded when you train your bench thus its not recommended to train both muscles on the same day. The same also goes for your back and biceps.
4 days rest per week routine will allow all muscles to heal before they can be used again and this will make growth happen faster.
