How Many Reps To Build Muscle
I become amazed when I see someone in the gym doing 15 reps or more. When I ask that person what are you doing he tells me that he want to lose fat.
If you want to lose fat then why bother lifting weights at all? Just run, do cardio or burn some calories anywhere.
If just like me your goal is to build muscles then you have to know that unless you do the right number of reps you might not see your muscles growing. In this post I will tell you how many reps are needed to build muscles.
So how many reps are needed to build muscle
In order for your muscles to grow you must do 2 things, lift heavy and increase the amount of load your muscles get subjected to each time you hit the gym.
In order for this to happen you need to do no more than 10 reps. Because after all if you managed to do 10 reps in a perfect form then the weight is considered light and it won't stimulate your muscles.
After all in order for your muscles to grow you must give them a strong reason which is a weight that they can hardly lift.
Don't get this wrong and do 3 or 4 reps using a very heavy weight because that would affect your form and the result wont be loading your muscles correctly.
6-8 Reps are considered the perfect number that stimulates growth provided that you do the exercise in a perfect form.
How to keep growing
When you get used to the weight and when your muscles grow more you will easily be able to lift 10 reps. As soon as this happens move to a heavier weight so that you always keep yourself in the 6-8 reps zone.
By doing so you will be providing continues stimulus for your muscles to grow.
