How To Increase Workout Intensity
The only way for your muscles to grow is to keep increasing the intensity of your workout every now and then.
As soon as muscles get used to a certain workout intensity muscles stop growing and that's the biggest reason why push ups lose their effectiveness over time.
People usually get that concept wrong and mistakenly believe that lifting more weight is all what they can do to increase their workout intensity while in fact that's only a little part of the big story.
In this article I will tell you how to increase your workout intensity using different ways so that you can get bigger quickly.
Different ways to increase workout intensity
The first thing you can do to increase your workout intensity is to lower the weights slowly. When you lower the weights slowly this negative motion results in tearing more muscle fibers and so your muscles are stimulated top grow bigger.
The second thing you can do to increase a workout intensity is to pause in the middle of the exercise for 2 seconds. For example in bench press you can pause at the top for 2 seconds before you start bringing the weight down.
The third effective thing you can do to increase the intensity of your workout is to pause before you reach the end of the range. For example when lifting the bar in bench press don't let the bar touch your chest so that your bench is allowed to rest but instead pause one centimeter or two before you reach your chest to keep your muscle stimulated.
Finally you can reduce the time you take to rest. If you complete your workout in one hour then completing it in 45 minutes will make the workout more intense.
How often should you increase workout intensity?
If you can withstand to increase the intensity every week then this will certainly produce great results however most people wont be able to do so. 2 weeks is a very good range. So assuming you train your arm once a week then increasing the intensity once every 15 days will bring very good results.
Finally you can increase the workout intensity by adding more weight but never do so if the added weight will prevent you from maintaining perfect form.
